LMLIM Week 3 | An inspired look

When I saw this picture in Good Housekeeping magazine I really liked the pilot jumpsuit and scarf together.  Then I started thinking, IIIIII don't think that jumpsuit would look as cute on my tummy.  It might look more like I worked at a gas station if you know what I mean.  So I did my favorite thing, I improvised.  Pulling out this cute black maxi dress from my closet and one of my most colorful
infinite scarves I turned that Maxi into my inspired look. Oh and I added a long chain necklace for a finishing touch. 

I'm really loving this series.  I have been learning so many new tips and getting rid of plenty of paper clutter.  I hope some of you are trying it out, it's not to late I still have one more week left.

No mine isn't DVF

Taking a tip today from not only Good Housekeeping magazine but Fashion Icon Diane von Furstenberg on this always classic look.  The wrap dress is a great dress for every women and it makes curvy girls look even curvier.  BOOM!  I've had this dress for years and I'll have to say it's a staple on my MUST WEAR once a month line up.  Pairing it with some of my favorite J. Lo heels and pretty in pink purse (courtesy of one of my besties) I'd say I nailed it!  Oh peep the shades too - these are my year round FAVs!  #CaliLife

Remember ladies you don't always have to go out and buy what you see in the pages of the magazines.  You probably have it in your closet so go there FIRST!  #SingleMamaDollas

LMLIM Week 1 | Black and White Fashion

I am falling in love with these cute print pants that have come out this season.  But my pocketbook is on lock because of travel ball but it doesn't cost to go and try on.  I peeped this fashion tip from the All You Magazine March 2014 edition and took it in hand to head to Lane Bryant for my "Runway" try-on experience.

Black and white is super hot this Spring too.  Now you know I couldn't just go try all this goodness

on and not come home with anything!  These pants just happen to be in the 40% off area so I really saved on the original price of $60. Take that Queen Latifah, I heard she rocked them on the show a few weeks ago.

I have already professed to everyone how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE magazines.  Well as I was going through and getting some of the clutter out of the house I had what Mama Oprah calls an Ahh Moment.  I'm always tearing out pieces of magazines and keeping them for future reference and future reference and future reference.  Yeah you get it.  So it's time to either start using some of the advice I'm saving or throw it away.

So here's the skinny.  Over the next month each week I'll be picking a tip from each of the following categories to try out:

• Beauty
• Food
• Lifestyle (Fitness, entertaining, etc.)
• Fashion
• DIY (I'm a little nervous about this one)

Each day I'll share my experiences right here for the world to see and maybe get a chuckle out of.  It

shall be interesting.  Be sure you follow along, you might get inspired yourself.  Okay I'm off to scour through my clippings...hopefully I'll be able to tackle my clutter at the same time.

Fo Shizzle Fridays | Its My Birthday

Howdy!  Yep today is my official 43rd birthday and I think I'm gonna take the day off....from blogging that is. :)  But before I go on a birthday hiatus I wanted to share my OOTD or OFMB (Outfit For My Birthday).

I love this dress AND shoes from Forever 21.  Yep I might not be 21 but hey not bad for 43.  For my curvy ladies check it out you can't go wrong with a classic like this one with an updated jeweled accent.  I lovs the BLING!

But of most excitement was that I realized my hair is growing back.  <insert round of applause>
