Let the Good Times begin

It's officially vacation time for this Momager and her crew.  Everybody deserves to get away and we are taking get away to the ultimate on this trip.  I'm going to be signing off for the next few days to recharge my batteries in the island of Aruba.  Ever been there?  It's like amazeballs and when you leave you wonder why the heck you got on the plane.  Get there if you've never been.  I'm also having the most spectacular traveling experience on jetBlue.  I mean like this is the VIP (only way we roll) of airlines and that sleep kit for my overnight napping on the red eye to NYC can never be duplicated.

Now on to the next flight and hopefully the kiddos will stop asking, "How long will it take?"  I mean can't they read the signs just like me?  They are Honor Roll students right?  Ugghhh kids sometimes.  But I'm sure once we land, get by the water and some fruity drinks -- for me-- then all that traveling angst will be bye bye.  Hey that's a suggestion for jetBlue a MUTE button for moms traveling alone with kids.  EiYiYi!

Until next week ya'll I'll be chillin' and reading lots of magazines and books.  Hope you are enjoying life to the fullest.

Ciao,

The Curvy Momager

PS.  Vacation mentioned on Social Media Disclaimer - If you are reading this post and think you can break into my crib since I'm on vacation I'd suggest you think again.  I know people that know people!

Momager Dopeness | Boss Women Pray

I have to give major props to Jennifer from Pink Foundation and Single Mom Sage for adding me to her book club in July.  It was a book that not only changed the way I thought about my blogging business but my Curvy Momager brand overall.  It provided me with not only foresight but got me energized to start a major part of my brand that I've been putting off for over a year.

The book is Boss Women Pray by Kachelle Kelly.  You can order directly from her website or download on Amazon, which is what I did.  Each day Kachelle has offered a prayer and an inspiration writing on a topic pertaining to growing your business from a spiritual perspective.  At the end of each inspiration there are also biblical references to help provide more justification for the readings.

One of my favorite days was Day 26 Prayer for Effective Marketing & Massive Exposure.  A part of the prayer reads:

"I sometimes get discourage when it seems I will never have the chance to share my passion on a larger scale.  But then I remember that You are on my side and that You cause all things to happen in perfect timing."

What an amazing reminder of how we are not in control and God is!  Then one of the biblical references for that day was 1 Corinthians 2:9:

Get this book!  I can not tell you how excited I was to be invited to this book club.  You can even have one yourself.  Invite women that are on a journey in business or thinking about opening a business and join in on some conversation after each day.  You can even do it on social media or via text!  It will really help you #activateyourhustle.

Whatchu Doin Wednesday | Getting My Finances Together

I first met Patrice Washington (virtually) a little over a year ago when she appeared on the radio show that I co-hosted, Cocktails and Conversation.  She joined us to chat about money matters for women and got me to really think about some financial mistakes I'd made and "covered" up with some pretty dumb (yeah dumb) excuses.  The really cool thing was she didn't make me feel dumb at all because the advice she gave was extremely practical and is explained in greater detail her book Real Money Answers for Every Woman.  [Click the link to purchase your copy and check out a sample of Chapter 1]

Let's face it nobody really wants to read a financial book especially if you are being careless with your money.  [Insert guilty face] Patrices' straight no chaser advice with a splash of comedy makes you want to delve into each chapter so you too can learn to Win at the Money Game.  Don't we all want to win at that game?  And ladies it's so doable on our own.  Do you know that females are leaders when it comes to managing successful home based businesses?  Many becoming millionaires!  I think it's time we all get this money thing together and Real Money Answers is the perfect start for reaching your financial goals.

Even if you weren't taught about money as a child, as many of us aren't it's never to late.  I say that especially to my single moms like me that are trying to figure out how everything is going to get done.  As Patrice says, "everything can be budgeted for".  This part really struck me because I'm always making excuses for why I don't have enough for this or for that because this or that emergency came up when I knew all along it was going to happen.  That small piece of advice I gained from reading the book has helped me refocus and think how I can make changes for future financial success.  So thanks to Patrice I made a major decision to downsize for a little while so that life's little (well-known) emergencies can be handled and I can still pay the bills!

Get this book today and get ready for Patrice's wisdom and wit helping you on your way to financial success.

If you are up driving around battling the weather tune into The Steve Harvey Morning Show and listen to Steve interview Patrice about her book at 8:30 am EST today.  I've got my hot chocolate ready to sip cause I'm gon learn today!

Getting my money swag on,
