I'm in the final week of this "project" and today's tip is DIY. Magazines are really the best place to find great hair tips and this one I sooooo liked. I don't think I've worn a braid or cornroll in my hair since maybe my 20s. But it really was a cute look on the model in the Essence magazine so I gave it a try. Especially since my hair has grown out I am always looking for an updo to help keep cool in Bako.
So here's how it turned out.
I did alter it a little because well I didn't have enough hair on the side for a braid. Maybe I'll try that when its a bit cooler here and add a little extra on the side. :) I also did an inverted braid because it was easier since I started at the middle of the part. Definitely will be including this in my hair style recipes.
I found this DIY tip in Essence Magazine, 5/14

LMLIM Week 3 | That swanky side part
Yes I'm still working on finding that low maintenance hairstyle. So why not try this tip I found in Essence for the deep side part? Looks good on the model right? Whelp either my head is way too big or my hair just won't simply cooperate because I didn't like it. I'm not one to wear my hear totally flat anyway...bobble head syndrome....I also had to brush and brush my hair for this style and that causes it to get really oily. Trust me that is not a good look. So I fluffed it up a little but kept the side part and I kinda like the end result even if it doesn't look as polished as the tip. Sometimes you just have to improvise. :) Do you side part? Give it a try and send me some pics of how it turned out.

LMLIM Week 2 | Quick Dry
I've left no heat April behind but I'm still trying to not over heat my hair. In the December 2012 issue of All You Magazine there was a beauty tip that would help me do just that, an absorbent microfiber bristle brush. It works Momagers, it really works! Drying time was cut in less than half. The key is to brush through the hair several times before even pulling out the blow dryer. One thing it really didn't do however was make it straight but that's what the flatiron is for right? For the low price of $10.50 this brush is gonna help save me from blow dry time and hopefully breakage. Give it a try Momager, this item is Curvy Momager approved!Beauty tip from All You Magazine, December 2012
