Momager Dopeness | Stripes and Bikinis

I was famously 40 (or over) sporting Forever 21 this weekend.  We took a one-dayer to Palm Springs and I rocked two of my most recent OOTD looks from the retailer.  I must have passed by this stripe
dress several times before I decided to try it on.  I kept thinking A) It's too short B) It's going to fit too snug and C) STRIPES, I'm gonna look like a zebra.  But I couldn't have been more wrong.  Yes it's short and for sure it's snug but in all the right places.  The stripes just add a bit of cuteness.  This was my traveling outfit and it was ultra comfy.  I think I'm actually going to go back and get a few more because they have several other colors and a few more stripe selections.  Do it Curvy Momager.

When we made it there it was time to hit the pool.  In 104 degree weather not much else to do.  I picked up this haute pink bikini (nope not a tanktini) during the winter season at Forever 21 and

wondered where I was gonna wear it.  Palm Springs, perfect opportunity.  The ruffles provide a little bit of camouflage but also the cutest accent.  Oh la la I think I've found my favorite swimsuit.  I didn't ever worry about wearing my coverup from my lounge chair to the pool stairs.  Confident curves, took me a minute but I made it.

LMLIM Week 3 | An inspired look

When I saw this picture in Good Housekeeping magazine I really liked the pilot jumpsuit and scarf together.  Then I started thinking, IIIIII don't think that jumpsuit would look as cute on my tummy.  It might look more like I worked at a gas station if you know what I mean.  So I did my favorite thing, I improvised.  Pulling out this cute black maxi dress from my closet and one of my most colorful
infinite scarves I turned that Maxi into my inspired look. Oh and I added a long chain necklace for a finishing touch.

I'm really loving this series.  I have been learning so many new tips and getting rid of plenty of paper clutter.  I hope some of you are trying it out, it's not to late I still have one more week left.

LMLIM Week 2 | Fashion Icon tip

No mine isn't DVF
Taking a tip today from not only Good Housekeeping magazine but Fashion Icon Diane von Furstenberg on this always classic look.  The wrap dress is a great dress for every women and it makes curvy girls look even curvier.  BOOM!  I've had this dress for years and I'll have to say it's a staple on my MUST WEAR once a month line up.  Pairing it with some of my favorite J. Lo heels and pretty in pink purse (courtesy of one of my besties) I'd say I nailed it!  Oh peep the shades too - these are my year round FAVs!  #CaliLife

Remember ladies you don't always have to go out and buy what you see in the pages of the magazines.  You probably have it in your closet so go there FIRST!  #SingleMamaDollas

Now off to work, have a wonderful Friday and if you are in the Cali area be sure to check out the Diane von Furstenberg exhibit, "Journey of A Dress" in the LA area.  I haven't been but have heard it rocks.  Might just have to take a day off, drive down and check it out.

Fashion tip from Good Housekeeping magazine, opps I didn't save the date.

Fo Shizzle Fridays | Saving My Single Momma Dollas

Gas is out of control, grocery prices are going up every day.  Who is feeing the pinch in their Michael Kors wallet these days?    \Raising my hand\  I'm making lots of changes over here and saw a few others that I'm considering.  First and foremost I'm changing my cell phone plan.  I have been paying unimaginable fees on my phone for ish I don't even need.  My new savings are now over $60 per month...can you say Happy Momager?  So I'm not letting it stop there.  I'm not as good at couponing as my PIC Erika over there at Cocktails and Conversation but I'm finding some other ways to cash in on some savings.  Maybe they will help you out too.  Take a look below and start stashing that cash Momager, college is just a day away!

1.  Cell phone bill - I read a few tips that suggested trying out Boost Mobile but not to sound like a snot or anything...that really isn't my flavor.  Instead I shopped the major cellular companies in my area and found Sprint had the best deal.  Their new Framily program (sounds strange) saves the more phones you add to the line.  Even if you know of someone that is thinking of signing up for Sprint service and they are not on your account you can join together to get more savings.  If you want to join the Framily plan hit me up I'm looking to get this bill down even further.

2.  Need to go to a fancy event?  Well rent a dress.  I've never tried this service but I'm thinking I have alot of swanky places to go this year so it will have to be on my To Try list.  Sure does beat paying upwards of $200 for something you really are only going to wear once.  Rent the Runway would be the first place I'll try but there are plenty of options out there.  Don't forget shop clearance too!  I scored a gorg full length haute dress a few weeks ago at Macy's for, wait for it.....$32.00.  Ha!  Nothing better than a good deal!

3.  Gas troubles, er in the tank, can really get you down.  We all have felt the pinch in the area.  A good way to slash this budget killa is to car pool but if that isn't an option for you try using Gas Buddy. This website will give you the lowest priced gas in your area.  Oh one other friendly tip I've heard is fill up on Wednesdays, prices normally change on Thursdays.

4.  Shop a lot?  Yeah me too, well I like to at least.  Putting a set amount on pre-loadable cards can help you curb an overspending habit.  I love this idea and will probably implement it with the kids.  The ultimate budget killas that want everything they see.  When they swipe and see ALL the cash is gone it should become really real for them.  LOL  Can't wait to see the look on those faces.

Hope these tips help.  Look at it this way, they surely can't hurt.

Happy saving,

The Curvy Momager
